About Me

I never set out to investigate the dyslexic child, but then I ended up having one.  Ten years of parenting in the dark, fearfully scraping the boundaries of what seemed so out of the norm has unleashed my drive to unleash the hidden genius in an expected people group.

I speak to mom groups, parenting groups, and peer groups about resources and education I have come across in living and researching the dyslexic child.

I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to language acquisition and I completed the Complete Reading Series from Georgia ETA.  I have shed an enormous amount of tears and lost hours of sleep, both for my own child and for the children of friends. There is so much we can learn from these kids, but the initial steps can be overwhelming.

My oldest son is a hidden dyslexic. We spent several years not knowing what was different about him and consequently misunderstood him often.  Understanding his brain birthed a career in tutoring and consulting for me as I come alongside parents who are reaching out for support.
